Roads are full of vehicles these days, and with every vehicle moving you can imagine the responsibility of the drivers of the vehicle for maintaining the safety parameters of traffic rules and regulations and abiding by them. For this reason, owning a License is mandatory for a driver in India. If you want to drive you need to obtain a license from the RTO Office nearest to your place and then you are free to drive anywhere in India.

But, to be able to obtain a driving License, one must know all the rules and regulations related to road and traffic and follow them at all costs. When you apply for the License, initially you will receive a Learning License and after that you can apply for a permanent driving license. It is a simple procedure and here are some key features which will help you get to know about Learning License and applying it via online and offline resources.

What is a Learning License?

A Learning License is a mandatory document obtained for driving legally on the roads of India. It is issued before a Permanent License and is valid for 6 months, after that period it can be renewed if you have not applied for Permanent Driving License.

Types of Learning License in Rajasthan

  • Learner’s License for motorcycles without gear: it is for the two-wheeler vehicles that do not have gear.
  • Learner’s License for light motor vehicles: it is issued to the light motor vehicles with gear or private motor vehicles.
  • Learner’s License for Heavy good vehicles: it is issued for the transport vehicles that transport goods or passengers.
  • Learner’s License for specific qualities vehicles.

Eligibility Criteria for obtaining Learner’s License

  • The minimum age is 18 years of age to obtain a Learner’s License for Light Motor Vehicle in Rajasthan.
  • The minimum age is 16 years of age to obtain a Learner’s License for Non-geared motorcycle up to 50 cc engine capacity. A letter of consent is also needed from the parents or guardian.
  • The minimum age is 20 years of age to obtain a Learner’s License for a Commercial Vehicle.
  • One should know all traffic rules, regulations and signals and abide by them.

What are the documents required for Learning License?

The below mentioned are the documents required for Learner’s License in Rajasthan:

  1. Form No. 2 accurately filled
  2. Proof of Age (Passport, Pan Card, Ration Card, Voter ID, Birth Certificate, LIC Policy)
  3. Proof of Address (Passport, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Electricity Bill, Phone Bill)
  4. Form 1 (Physical Fitness Certificate)
  5. Form 1A (Medical Certificate)
  6. Passport-sized photographs
  7. Application fees (Rs.150 for an Application form and Rs.50 for Learner’s License Test)

How to apply offline for Learning License in Rajasthan?

  • Visit your nearest RTO office.
  • Ask for the application form of Learner’s License.
  • You can also download and take a print of the form from the website https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/
  • Fill the form and attach all the desired documents.
  • Submit the form completely and accurately filled.
  • Attach passport sized photographs.
  • Pay application fees.
  • Choose a suitable slot for Learner’s License Test.
  • Visit the RTO on the given schedule.
  • Appear for the test.
  • If cleared successfully, your Learner’s License will be issued to you by the RTO Office at your registered address.

How to apply online for Learning License in Rajasthan?

  • Visit the website https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/, the official website of the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways.
  • Click on the “Online Services” drop-down menu.
  • Click on the “Driving License Related Services” option.
  • You will be redirected to a new page.
  • Select the State you wish to apply the Learner’s License for.
  • Click “Apply Online” in the left corner.
  • Choose “New Learner’s License”.
  • Read the instructions very carefully and click “Proceed”
  • Fill in all the necessary information and click “Submit”.
  • Scan and upload all the documents required for obtaining the Learner’s License.
  • Pay the application fees online.
  • Choose a suitable slot for Learner’s License Test.
  • Visit the RTO Office closest to your place, and give the test on the said schedule.
  • Once you clear the test successfully, you will be issued with the Learner’s License in no time, at your registered address.

How to apply for Duplicate Learning License in Rajasthan?

  • Visit your nearest RTO office.
  • Correctly and completely fill the LLD form.
  • Attach the requested documents.
  • Attach two-passport sized photos.
  • Provide the details of stolen or misplaced Learner’s License.
  • Attach a copy of the FIR with the form, if the Learner’s License is stolen.
  • Pay the requested fees for the application form.
  • You will be issued your Duplicate Learner’s License at your registered address.
